Lindores Abbey Friar John Cor Chapter 2, Cask Strength, Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 60.9%

2 items left

Lindores Abbey is officially recognised as the site of the first recorded distillation of whisky, when in 1494 King James IV commissioned Brother John Cor of Lindores to turn 8 bolls of malt into 'Aqua Vitae'

This second release of limited edition whisky is a nod to this amazing history, named for Friar John Cor.

Chapter 2 is aged in a combination of Bourbon, STR Wine, and Peated Rum Casks. As with all Lindores bottlings it has no added colouring, is non-chill filtered and bottled on site at the batch cask strength of 60.9%.

Tasting note from the Distillery:

Colour: Amber

Nose: Mellow maple syrup, roasted banana, fruity dates, apples and spicy cinnamon, caramelised demerara sugar with subtle waves of earthy peat.

Palate: Rich fruity pears, roasted banana with spicy cinnamon, caramelized nutty almonds followed by distant waves of pleasant, smoky earthy peat and subtle maritime notes. Very smooth velvety texture, well balanced and complex.

Finish: Long lasting with lots of character.
