This Founders Selection Single Cask 'Man O'Words' is an unpeated whisky, distilled in 2016, matured in a refill ex-Bourbon cask and bottled at cask strength in 2022.

Tasting Notes from the distillery:

Appearance: Light golden hue

Nose: Beautifully sweet notes on the nose of cream soda, pear drops, fresh green Granny Smith apple.

Palate: Wonderful burst of tropical fruits including mango, pineapple and cool fresh melon leads on to lingering notes of vanilla and creamy caramel.

About the distillery

Annandale is the valley of the River Annan which rises in rugged uplands of northern Dumfriesshire and disgorges into the Solway Firth, just south of the town of Annan. By any standards, Annandale is one of the most scenic and beautiful parts of Scotland.

Annandale Distillery was established in 1836, making it one of the earliest ‘legal’ whisky distilleries in Scotland. However, Annandale is particularly unusual because it was closed in 1918, seemingly for good, until the derelict site was bought by the current owners who reintroduced Scotch whisky production in 2014.

Annandale produces both traditional Peated Malt Whiskies and Unpeated Malt Whiskies, tied into the rich history of the region. The Peated varieties are bottled “Man O’Swords” for famous Lord of Annandale, Robert the Bruce. The Unpeated varieties are bottled “Man O’Words” for renowned Scottish Poet and Annan exciseman, Robert Burns.
