Leiper's Fork Tennessee Whiskey Bottled in Bond, 50%

Tennessee was once one of the 4 great whisk(e)y regions of the world, up there with Scotland, Ireland and Kentucky.  The chaps at Leiper's Fork Distillery are certainly putting Tennessee back on the map with this pre-prohibition style Tennessee Whiskey!

An artisan producer, Leiper's Fork grow all the ingredients in their own fields, making their whiskey from grain to glass. With their very traditional production methods (including an amazing set of copper pot stills with Scottish swan necks and a very nerdy four plate purifier!), you'll only ever see Leiper's Fork whiskeys labelled as 'Bottled in Bond'. This mark of distinction stipulates that the whiskey has been made by one single distiller, in one distilling season, aged in a government bonded warehouse for at least 4 years, and bottled at 100 proof or higher (50% ABV).

Comprised of 70% Corn, 15% Rye, 15% Toasted Barley Malt, this Tennessee Whiskey is aged for 5 years, filtered through sugar maple, and Bottled in Bond at 100 Proof.

Tasting note from the distillery:

"Milk chocolate, roasted coffee, ripe plum, dark cherry and honey nose. A complex palate of caramel, red berries and baking spices. Complexity increases as it rests in the glass. A whiskey that is every bit as satisfying to the nose as to sip."
